Couples Therapy

Understanding yourself. Understanding each other. Creating change through awareness.

Relationships can bring great joy—but also moments of tension, distance, or feeling stuck in repeating patterns. Whether you’re navigating ongoing conflict, miscommunication, or struggling to reconnect, couples therapy offers a space to explore what’s happening—both between you and within each of you.

Together, we slow things down. We look at how you're relating, what each of you might be carrying, and how unconscious patterns or old defences may be shaping your dynamic.

How I Work with Couples

I work with couples of all backgrounds, genders, sexual orientations, and relationship structures—including LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent partnerships. My approach is integrative and relational, drawing on Transactional Analysis, attachment theory, and depth psychotherapy.

Psychoeducation is a key part of the process. As we explore your emotional responses, I’ll help you understand the psychological frameworks behind them. This might include how nervous system responses, early experiences, or attachment styles influence the way you connect, communicate, or protect yourselves. With greater awareness comes greater choice—and the potential for change.

I have supported couples through a range of relational experiences, including:

  • Same-sex and heterosexual relationship dynamics
  • Navigating neurodiversity within the couple
  • Navigating differences in communication or emotional expression
  • Pregnancy and the transition into parenthood
  • Exploring the decision of whether or not to start a family
  • Reconnecting after emotional or physical disconnection
  • Intimacy issues—emotional, physical, or both

Why Couples Come to Therapy

  • Repetitive conflict or difficulty communicating
  • Emotional disconnection or lack of intimacy
  • Issues with trust, openness, or emotional safety
  • Major life transitions: parenthood, loss, relocation, career shifts
  • Navigating identity, neurodiversity or sexuality within the relationship
  • Exploring relationship roles, expectations, or differences in needs
  • A desire to better understand one another and grow together

You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit from relationships therapy. Many couples seek support because they want to deepen their connection and relate with more care and intention.
